Professor Lauren Morgan will lead the alumni panel discussion about their stories from COD to exciting careers in entrepreneurship, fashion, hospitality, medicine, music, and science.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Application Details

 

 

Applications are now being accepted for….

New Century Workforce Pathway Scholarships

Qualified students should be planning to enter the workforce after completing a
certificate or associate degree at COD. Two finalists will be chosen from COD and
will compete to be one of 50 students recognized nationally for a New Century
Workforce Pathway Scholarship in the amount of $1250. Monetary awards can be
used for things like furthering their education, obtaining necessary certifications
and/or purchasing tools or other trade items needed to enter the workforce.

Applications must be submitted online by
11:59 p.m. on November 12, 2017.
The instructions for submitting online are outlined below.
All students may login to the application by going to scholarships.ptk.org

Phi Theta Kappa members:

 Log in using your Phi Theta Kappa username (email at the time of membership)
and password.
o If you have forgotten your log in, follow the steps on the log in page for
“Forgot Password.”

Non Phi Theta Kappa members:
 Visit ptk.org, select “LOGIN” at the top of the screen, then click the “sign up for
free access” link located on the right side of the page.
Once you have logged in…
 Select the link that says “Begin Now” on the “Fall Scholarship Application”
 Follow the instructions to complete the eligibility quiz and application

The application is a Common Application and all Phi Theta Kappa members
may also apply for separate Phi Theta Kappa scholarships at the same time
as these scholarships.

Review of applications on campus will take place November 13-22 and two COD
finalists will be chosen and submitted for the national competition.

*Please note – the deadline listed on the website of December 1stis the deadline for
COD to submit our nominees. You must have a complete application online by 11:59pm on 11/12/17 in order to be considered for these specific award competitions.

Academic Teams 
and
New Century Transfer Pathway Scholarships
2 finalists will be chosen from COD and will be named to the All-Illinois Academic
Team. Those two nominees will then compete nationally to be one of 20 students
chosen for the All-USA Community College Academic Team ($5000); one of 150
students named to the Coca-Cola Academic Team ($1000-$1500) and one of 50
students chosen for the New Century Transfer Pathways Scholarships ($2250).
